I am excited to launch with my new logo designed by Australian artist Jessica Marree Welsh. Jessica is a wonderfully talented artist and graphic designer. Her style is whimsical, vibrant and striking. I was first attracted to her work when I saw it come across my Instagram news feed. I loved her use of color and natural elements. When I started forming the ideas behind a doula business, that later became Doulight, I reached out to Jessica to see if she would consider designing a logo for me. To my delight she accepted! Jessica guided me in my enthusiasm to use every creative element that one may encounter in a birth business logo. Bright colors- yes!! Flora- yes!! A pregnant nude- yes!!! Vaginas- of course! I was going a little overboard and having an experienced and calm artist was so helpful in coming up with the cool and calming design. (Sounds a little like I got doula'd in design.) Without Jessica I would have been a complete Crayola mess.
